Croatia Rocks

If there's one word that sums up our stay in Croatia it's food - and boy, did we eat while we were there! Croatians certainly know how to serve up some tasty fare, and there coffee making skills were the best we've come across - we didn't have a single bad coffee the whole time we were there, and that's pretty important to us!

We stayed with Mirta's brother in Zagreb and he looked after us so well, making sure we saw all the main sites, driving us to various scenic locations and making sure we were never hungry for a second. We went out for Chivapi with his adorable family (seriously, the world's cutest kids!!!) and another night he made the best BBQ ever. He also told us about a fantastic pizza restaurant, and with Mirta's icecream buying tips we were so set. I'm sure we put on about 5kgs!!! The city itself was awesome, such a great vibe and so nice and clean and orderly after some of the more chaotic places we've been.

From Zagreb we flew to Dubrovnik, which is seriously the most beautiful place. We were staying in an apartment with windows overlooking the old town (we were just above it) and right out across the sea. The weather wasn't the best to begin with, but then we got this amazing, picture postcard hot day and we made the most of it, lapping up that gorgeous sunshine and the even more gorgeous vistas!

We were then onto Split, where we stayed overnight before flying to Rome. The bus ride there from Dubrovnik was somewhat hellish (fat guy in front of us reeked of B.O and the bus was a sauna, but the amazing scenery made up for it). Split was a cool place and the remains of Diocletion's palace were great to wander around.

Our visit to Croatia was waaay too short, and we definitely plan to go back there in the future (Jared and Mirta, we'll be buying Lotto tickets when we get home so we can all go together next time!)
